Andrea Deaton

Andrea Deaton has been teaching swing, latin, and ballroom dancing for over 20 years. She has performed, competed, judged and taught swing dancing across the nation, including an appearance on the Good Morning America show to teach Joan Lunden the Carolina Shag. She is highly sought after as the Mistress of Ceremonies at national events such as the US Open and American Swing Dance Championships. Her warm sense of humor and sensual style of West Coast Swing make her a favorite teacher at swing weekends.

     Hello Ghouls and Gals:

Thanks to everyone who made the SSDS Halloween Dance such a scary
success. Andrea Deaton's lessons were a treat (no tricks) for all who
came to the workshops. Joe Whiting's music was ghostly great, and he
showed us once again why his band is one of our all-time favorites.

Special thanks to all of the dedicated volunteers who always rise from
the dead to pitch in and make our events work. Thanks to everyone who
had fun dancing and decorating Thursday night, Rosalie Neri for
wonderful snacks, Mark Johnson and his crew for working the door, Kim
McLaughlin for helping with contests, Can Isik and Steve Ryan for
all-around set-up, planning, troubleshooting, etc. Thanks too to
Cindy Overstreet and our fiends (I mean friends) at ISDN for
collaborating with SSDS to bring Andrea East.

As always, I welcome your comments and criticisms. Happy Halloween!!!

     Tania
