Swing at the Blues Fest

Sponsored by Syracuse_Swing_Dance_Society

July 17-19, 1998

Hotel Syracuse Radisson Plaza (Downtown), Syracuse, NY.

In coordination with N.Y. State Blues Fest.

Blues Festival was a great event, from Joe Whiting's opening set to the Sunday night jam party at Styleen's. I am sending this note to thank everyone for their participation. Special thanks to Linda for coordinating housing for out-of-town dancers and to Syracuse dancers who hosted them, to Tania for getting the t-shirts done just in time as well as for organizing the registration and to dancers who volunteered, to Maria, Aswin & Cindy and their choreography classes for the impressive demos Friday and Saturday nights, to Salwa for the blue ribbons and to dancers who wore them, to Steve for organizing the excellent workshops and private lessons and to Bill and Blake for teaching them with such humor and effectiveness. Steve is still depressed because the hotel did not keep its promise to expand the second dance floor, but I think he'll get over it. We are already making plans for a bigger and better dance event at the next Blues Fest. Please let me or Steve know if you have any opinions or ideas.
