Sound System Rental Policy and Schedule

Equipment Rental Policy -- 2/8/2004, updated 1/10/2008

  1. As part of its mission to promote swing dancing and to serve the local dance community, SSDS will rent its sound system for a modest fee to cover the cost of insurance and wear and tear on the equipment. The nature of the renting group, i.e., profit or non-profit, active volunteers at SSDS events, fundraiser for charity, etc., will be a consideration in negotiating the rental price.
  2. Unless the Board of Directors dispenses with this requirement, SSDS requires a written agreement for equipment rental.
  3. SSDS events and SSDS use of the sound system take first priority over rental by other individuals or groups. The sound system is used by SSDS every Thursday, and every dance weekend SSDS organizes, as listed in the SSDS dance schedule. SSDS reserves the right to cancel any rental arrangement if it needs the system for an event that it organizes.
  4. The Board of Directors has the authority to approve or disapprove rental requests and set the terms of the rental including time, delivery, and price.
  5. The Board may determine to lower the rental fee in exchange for explicit and prominent recognition from the event organizer(s) that SSDS is a sponsor or supporter of the event by reducing its rental fee for the system.
